Jonas Rashedi, host of the podcast MY DATA IS BETTER THAN YOURS, talks to our Co-CEO and Founder Thomas Tauchner in the latest episode of the show.

Do you have control over your own data? How do you want to face authorities if you cannot even control which data is being sent? Having control over your own data means being able to capture it. And that naturally raises the question: wouldn’t it make sense to work with a Data Capture Platform?

The problem is that 50–60% of data cannot be tracked correctly. As a result, decisions are often based on incomplete or incorrect information. Thomas Tauchner explains the difference between a Data Capture Platform and a traditional tag management system, and why it is actually a good thing that we in Europe have had to “deal” with the GDPR. It has forced us to engage early with data protection and regulation, allowing us to turn this challenge into a solution and a competitive advantage. Data ethics principles are clearly defined as a result, and the topic of a cookieless future must be addressed sooner rather than later.

Jonas Rashedi shares his experiences with tracking and data layers, as well as insights into the massive tracking maps that some companies build internally. Thomas Tauchner also explains how JENTIS came into being, which technological steps were taken along the way, and how the term Data Capture Platform was established.

A small sneak preview.
