Jonas is a specialist in data and optimisation. Before his role as CDO at FUNKE, where he is building a new business unit, he spent four years as Director of Data Intelligence & Technologies at Parfümerie Douglas GmbH. During this time, he led up to seven teams and supported revenue growth from €300 million to €1.2 billion.
He also hosts the podcast MY DATA IS BETTER THAN YOURS, interviews data leaders, writes books in collaboration with Springer Verlag, and supports companies in increasing revenue through efficient and clear data strategies. With The Data Institute, he is building a data consultancy focused on empowering companies to become truly data-driven and achieve long-term competitiveness.

Entering the industry at a young age, Thomas has always had a strong sense for market needs and consistently stayed one step ahead of technological progress. After working as Head of Web Analytics at e-dialog, he founded his own web analytics agency, Webrocket GmbH, in 2014. To address the challenges he observed in online marketing, he developed JENTIS, the server-side tracking solution.
